DEMETRA Project - Counseling Laboratory by the Chamber of Heraklion and the Association of Women of Episkopi M. Hersonissos "Ergani" in Episkopi Pediadas

An educational/counseling workshop for women who are active or will be active in the agricultural sector was organized by the Chamber of Heraklion in collaboration with the Association of Women Episkopi of the municipality of Hersonissos "Ergani" in Episkopi Pediadas.

 

During the constructive workshop, presentations were made on "Women and rural enterprises: obstacles, solutions and good practices" in the framework of the DEMETRA Program funded by Erasmus+ KA2 VET, in which the Chamber of Heraklion participates and has the ultimate goal of increasing the participation of women entrepreneurs in the agricultural sector in the inland regions of the EU.

 

Members of the association "Ergani", rural women, members of women's associations and employees of agricultural businesses participated in the advisory action, who also received mentoring.  The mentoring was conducted by experienced entrepreneurship mentors and executives of the European Programs of the Chamber of Heraklion.

 

At the end of the event, the participants asked for more information on CAP aid issues (such as the Advisory Services Action), on issues of informing NSRF funding for new businesses in the agri-food sector, etc.
